Infrastructure and Services

Costa Fuego benefits from a highly accessible location, with an average elevation of 740m above sea level, and is connected by the Pan American Highway to the regional capital of Vallenar with a population of 52,000.

The project occupies a compact footprint with three mining sites located within a 10km radius: Productora, Cortadera and San Antonio. Connections to critical infrastructure in the Maitencillo substation (power) and Los Losas port facility (logistics) are in place, with all water required for future operations secured through Huasco Water.

PRODUCTORA

Productora is the processing centre of Costa Fuego, and also includes open pit mining with the Productora and Alice pits. The RopeCon delivers both oxide and sulphide ore to the processing centre from Cortadera.

The power supply from Maitencillo, and seawater supply from Huasco Water, are connected at Productora and distributed across Costa Fuego.

CORTADERA

Cortadera includes both open pit mining and underground mining below the Cuerpo 3 pit.

Cortadera ore, along with ore trucked from San Antonio, is loaded upon the RopeCon for transport to Productora.

MAITENCILLO SUB STATION

The Maitencillo sub station, south of Freirina and only 19 km from Productora, will provide grid connected electricity to the Project. The Maitencillio facility enables power from solar generators in the region to be used.

 LAS LOSAS PORT

Costa Fuego is approximately 60km west of the Las Losas port in Huasco, where Hot Chili have an MOU for the upgrading of existing port facilities to handle the volume of concentrate to be stored and shipped.
